Germany, Dortmund: German transmission system operator Amprion has announced its commitment to reducing emissions by almost 60 % by 2032.

This way, the company will reach its milestone in the implementation of its climate protection strategy. The company’s objective is a sustainable operation in the expansion and conversion of the power transmission network.

“As a transmission system operator, we are contributing to the Green Deal in Germany and Europe. I am pleased that we have also committed to an ambitious but realistic CO2 reduction path for our value chain. For Amprion, this is a further step on the path to climate neutrality for our organisation,” said Amprion CEO Dr. Hans-Jürgen Brick. The voluntary commitment follows the requirements of the Paris climate protection agreement on the 1.5 °C target.

Amprion is making an essential contribution to ensuring that Germany meets its climate objectives by 2045 by integrating renewable energies into the electricity grid. As a result, grid expansion encourages climate-neutral power generation now and in the future. Companies may more readily demonstrate the good benefits to the environment and society by publicly displaying the emission reductions they enable.
