India, Madhya Pradesh: Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company Ltd (MPPTCL) has announced energising the state’s first 220 kV, 50 MVAR bus reactor.

The new bus reactor will enable the control of the interstate power transmission from Maharashtra through a 220 kV line between the Pandhurna substation in Madhya Pradesh and the Kalamenshwar substation in Maharashtra. With its energisation, the low load at two 132 kV substations will be addressed.

To save the MPPTCL from paying possible penalties due to reactive power feed and to solve the problem of high voltage in the area, Sanjeev Srivastava, Superintending Engineer from MPPTCL, designed and developed this reactor, the first of its kind in the state.

The company has made a special effort in preparing the tender process that incorporated innovative technical parameters.
