TNC deliveres 39 power transformers in Nigeria

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has delivered over 39 power transformers and spare parts as well as substation projects across its 10 regions.

Nigeria, Abuja: The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has delivered over 39 power transformers and spare parts as well as substation projects across its 10 regions.

According to a statement by the company’s General Manager Ndidi Mbah, the deliveries were steps towards implementing the Nigerian Electricity Grid Maintenance, Expansion and Rehabilitation Programme (NEGMERP) by the company.

The projects are being supported by the World Bank, the national power transmission firm stated.

It noted that, “Meanwhile, under Lagos region, several substations and line projects have been completed in the last one year.” Some of these include 60 MVA transformers installed at Egbin and Itire substations. TCN also procured two transformers for the new Eko Atlantic substation, along with 16 others to be installed at substations in Alagbon, Akoka, Amuwo, Ijora.

The company is also delivering eight transformers across some South South states in its region, including two 60 MVA transformers each at Ugep and Oron substations in Akwa Ibom.
