PGE and Ørsted to manufacture Baltica 2 substations
PGE Group and Ørsted have signed an agreement with PTSC M&C consortium for the Baltica 2 offshore wind farm substations in Poland.

Poland, Warsaw: PGE Group and Ørsted have signed an agreement with PTSC M&C consortium for the Baltica 2 offshore wind farm substations in Poland.
The agreement, signed between Polish PGE Group and Danish Ørsted, and the consortium of Semco Maritime and PTSC Mechanical & Construction (PTSC M&C), involves the design, manufacturing, and commissioning of offshore substations for the Baltica 2 offshore wind farm in Poland.
Four 375 MW substations – each equipped with two transformers – will collect power generated by wind turbines, transform it and export it to mainland.
Semco Maritime will design, procure and install high and medium voltage, SCADA, and auxiliary systems supported by ISC Consulting Engineers and Hyundai Electric.
The contract will be executed in 2023–2026.
Baltica 2 offshore wind farm will comprise 107 Siemens Gamesa 14 MW wind turbines with a total capacity of 1,498 MW.
“The signing of the contract for offshore power stations for Baltica 2 is another key agreement within the project. Substations will be delivered for the Baltica 2 stage of about 1.5 GW capacity which is planned to be commissioned by 2027,” said Wojciech Dąbrowski, President of the Management Board of PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna.
PGE and Ørsted plan to commission Baltica 2 by the end of 2027 and the 1 GW Baltica 3 project by the end of 2029.
“The signing the contract for offshore power stations is an important milestone for the project which brings us closer to delivering Poland’s largest-ever renewable energy project – an offshore wind farm that will produce enough green energy to cover the power consumption of approximately 2.4 million Polish households,” said Agata Staniewska-Bolesta, Managing Director of Ørsted Offshore Poland.
