Paraguay, Valenzuela: 12 power transformers have successfully arrived at the future Valenzuela 500 kV substation.

The last 12 500 kV transformers have arrived at the future Valenzuela 500 kV substation and have been placed in their final position.

The aforementioned substation, located in Cordillera, will have a total power of 1,400 MVA, benefiting around 770,000 customers in Cordillera, Central and Asunción. This substation will be one of the most important for the Paraguayan electricity sector, since 5 important transmission lines will be connected to it, thus allowing a greater amount of power to be fed into the national system.

This work is part of the ANDE Master Plan and will have two banks of 500/220/23 kV transformers of 600 MVA each; a bank of 220/66 kV 120 MVA transformers and a 220/23 kV 80 MVA power transformer with capacity for the output of 10 distribution lines.

Additionally, sectioning of the 500 kV Ayolas-Villa Hayes transmission line will be carried out, as well as the construction of a 66 kV transmission line. Also, the construction of the future 66 kV San José de los Arroyos Substation is planned, as well as the construction of the 66 kV Valenzuela – San José de los Arroyos transmission line.
