Uzbekistan, Bukhara: ACWA Power’s Bash Wind Farm project to advance renewable energy in Uzbekistan.

The Bash Wind Farm project is located in the Bukhara region of Uzbekistan and represents a significant step forward in the process of advancement of renewable energy in Central Asia. The project is developed by the renewable energy project developer ACWA Power and is set to become a major player in Uzbekistan’s drive towards a sustainable energy future.

The project will be equipped with 79 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 6.5 MW, making it the largest wind farm in Central Asia. It is expected to generate more than 1,650 GWh of electricity annually, sufficient to power over 1 M homes. It is projected that it will cut CO2 emissions by 750 tonnes per year.

The project’s completion is slated for the first quarter of 2025.

The Bash Wind Farm project is not only a major investment in Uzbekistan’s renewable energy sector, but it is also an initiative that will help diversify the country’s energy mix, reduce its reliance on fossil fuels, and stimulate local economic growth.

ACWA Power has an expansive portfolio in Uzbekistan, comprising 10 projects with a combined investment value of $7.5 B.
