Angola, Luanda: Angolan Ministry of Energy and Water has issued bid invitations for the Huambo-Lubango Backbone Transmission Investment Project.

The Ministry of Energy and Water of the Republic of Angola has issued the invitations for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) bids regarding the 400 kV Huambo-Lubango Backbone Transmission Investment Project.

Lot 1 consists of the construction of the new 400/220/60 kV from Lubango substation with 2 x 450 MVA transformers and all associated Primary and Secondary Plant (including the MicroSCADA Supervision System).

This lot also includes the extension of the 400 kV Huambo substation of 400/220/60 kV and the expansion of the 400/220/60 kV substation in Belém in Huambo, equipping a new line module at 400 kV along with associated primary and secondary equipment. These works are required to be completed within a period of 26 months.

Lot 2 consists of the construction of a 400 kV electric power transmission line of approximately 176 km, from the Belém in Huambo Substation to Caluquembe to the future Lubango Substation. These works are required to be completed within a period of 26 months.

Lot 3 consists of the construction of a 400 kV electric power transmission line of approximately 168 km from Caluquembe to the future Lubango Substation. These works are required to be completed within a period of 26 months.
