Canada, Ontario: The upgrade is expected bring an additional 300 MW of clean power and create a new community green space along the corridor.

Hydro One Networks has filed an application with the Ontario Energy Board, planning to invest $53.5 million to upgrade an existing transmission line and operate it at a higher voltage as part of its Etobicoke Greenway Project.

The upgrade will not only bring an additional 300 MW of clean power, enough to support Burlington, Ontario but also create a new community green space along the corridor connecting Richview and Manby Transformer Stations.

“Hydro One’s Etobicoke Greenway Project will provide additional, clean electricity that supports the growth of our neighborhoods and businesses,” said Kinga Surma, Member of Provincial Parliament, Etobicoke Center.

The project was identified to support economic growth and transit electrification in the Toronto Integrated Regional Resource Planning process, led by the Independent Electricity System Operator.
