Ukraine, Kyiv: DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids in 2023 invested about UAH 700 million ($19.1 million) in the restoration and development of networks for the autumn-winter period.

According to General Director Vitaliy Shaida, this exceeds investments of previous periods by more than twice. “If, for example, in 2020 our investments in the network amounted to about UAH 300 million, then this year it is about UAH 700 million,” he said at a briefing in Kyiv on Wednesday.

According to him, the increase in investments is connected not only with attacks on networks by Russia and the consequences of the occupation of the region in 2022, but also with the company’s desire to develop networks. At the same time, Shaida noted that by this time the company had managed to restore all 10,000 km of networks damaged by shelling, as well as 3,000 transformer substations and 71 10-0.4 kV substations.

“We have restored all the networks, they are fully ready to pass the heating season,” he assured.

In total, the company this year updated 278 important energy facilities and 3,712 km of electrical networks, repaired and tested 864 cable lines, cleared 3,112 km of lines. By the end of the year, it intends to update another 110 facilities, repair almost 2,000 km and clear 1,200 km of lines.

Shaida also added that the company installed a 110/10 kV substation in one of the energy-deficient nodes in the region, which will increase the reliability of power supply.

DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids serves 1.05 million household and 30,000 business clients in Kyiv region.
