Ukraine, Kyiv: In the near future, transformers and solar panels from Japan will arrive in Ukraine, announced the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy.

This was discussed during the meeting of Deputy Ministers of Energy Yaroslav Demchenkov and Svitlana Hrynchuk with representatives of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), led by the vice president of the agency Ando Naoki. Mr. Naoki assured that Japan will continue to support Ukraine’s energy sector and announced the supply of transformers and solar panels to Ukraine in the coming months.

Demchenkov thanked Japan for the support provided to the country’s energy sector and emphasized its importance for passing the winter in conditions of attacks on energy infrastructure. Hrynchuk noted that Ukraine is interested in deepening cooperation with the agency to strengthen the physical protection of energy facilities. The deputy minister also suggested that JICA representatives join the work within the AidEnergy electronic system, which allows you to get acquainted with the current needs of energy companies of Ukraine online and provide operational assistance.

Ando Naoki emphasized the importance of energy security, and noted that about 40% of the aid provided by Japan to Ukraine is support for the country’s energy sector.
