India, Chandrapur: A leopard died from an electric shock in Maharashtra’s Chandrapur after it climbed on a transformer.

The leopard reportedly climbed the transformer after it saw a monkey sitting there. It tried to hunt the monkey and both died from an electric shock. The incident took place in the Sindewahi forest area.

Teams from the Forest Department and the Electricity Department reached the spot and confirmed that the animals died from electrocution. The animals were taken down from the transformer by officials. This isn’t the first case of animals causing problems with electrical equipment, as earlier this year we reported on squirrels causing power outages is North America.
