Croatia, Zagreb: KONČAR’s PROZA Station is the first to achieve a cybersecurity certification aligned with the international security standard IEC 62351.

The German certification company TÜV NORD has awarded KONČAR Digital a certificate of compliance with the latest international cybersecurity standards in critical infrastructure management systems. This makes KONČAR’s PROZA Station the world’s first SCADA solution aligned with the international cybersecurity standard IEC 62351.

Goran Leci and Stjepan Sučić, President and member of the Management Board of KONČAR – Digital, received the certificate from the German ambassador Christian Hellbach. The ceremony was also attended by KONČAR’s CEO, Gordan Kolak, Deputy Ambassador Harald Seibel, and Đuro Tunjić, Director of TÜV NORD Adriatic.

In his opening speech, ambassador Hellbach emphasized the strength of the German economy through innovation and rapid adaptation to changes. “We are witnessing the transformation of the German economy towards carbon neutrality, opening up significant opportunities for companies like KONČAR and Croatia as a potential exporter of green energy,” Hellbach concluded.

The IEC 62351 standard plays a key role in critical infrastructure cybersecurity, defining requirements to ensure confidentiality, integrity protection, and communication authentication to safeguard remote control systems. “To aptly respond to the intense digital and green energy transition across Europe, KONČAR’s strategic focus for many years has been on digital solutions for monitoring and managing critical infrastructure. We aim to become the largest IT company in the wider region, and achieving this critical certificate represents a significant step towards that goal. It’s the result of intense investment and striving for the highest standards of excellence,” Gordan Kolak said.

KONČAR’s PROZA Station, the world’s first digital solution with this certificate, is designed for cybersecurity-protected management of transformer stations and other critical infrastructure systems, including data center access. Đuro Tunjić noted the challenges in protecting critical infrastructure and meeting international standards and upcoming European regulations, but praised KONČAR for its commitment to quality, safety, and global practices.

A key feature of PROZA Station is its applicability in private cloud computing using Docker containers, achieving greater efficiency in data center implementation and maintenance, and allowing for additional digital redundancy to enhance critical infrastructure system resilience. It enables the rapid development of advanced energy networks through digital management at distribution transformer stations of lower voltage levels.

“KONČAR’s digital cybersecurity solutions align with the EU NIS 2 directive and provisions of the new Cybersecurity Law being prepared. This certificate also confirms KONČAR’s ongoing commitment to cybersecurity,” Goran Leci concluded.
