Nigeria, Lagos: The Lagos Region of TCN has taken delivery of a new 100 MVA power transformer with its accessories over the weekend at its 132/33 kV transmission substation in Lagos.

A statement from the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) explained that the new transformer will replace the existing 30 MVA capacity power transformer. On installation, the new 100 MVA transformer will add 64 MW to the wheeling capacity of the substation, enabling Eko DisCo to bring more electricity to its customers in Ijora-Olopa, Ijora-Badia, Ijora-7up, Lagos Island and Marina. TCN noted that this is part of the numerous ongoing grid expansion projects by the company and the World Bank.
