USA, New Jersey: Invenergy has acquired a renewable energy transmission project in New Jersey from Blackstone Infrastructure Partners.

Invenergy has announced their acquirement of the project, and renamed it as Jersey Link. It was previously known as Atlantic Power Transmission. Blackstone Infrastructure Partners will continue to support the site moving  forward.

New Jersey is pursuing the addition of 11 GW of offshore wind by 2040, and Jersey Link is a scalable HVDC transmission link that will allow for the integration of up to 3600 MW of offshore wind into the state grid.

“This announcement underscores Invenergy’s continued commitment to building the critical infrastructure required to advance the offshore wind and transmission goals of New Jersey, and the US at large,” said senior project director for Jersey Link Robert Taylor.

“Invenergy’s deeply experienced team will ensure Jersey Link cost-effectively delivers offshore wind power to shore, invests in coastal and inland communities, and advances workforce development opportunities throughout the state.”
