France, Bègles: Valorem has announced that its PV projects have received Environmental Terms Approval (ETA) from the Greek Ministry of Energy and Environment.

French independent green energy operator Valorem has announced that seven of its solar projects totalling 300 MW, located in Thessaly, have received Environmental Terms Approval (ETA) from the Greek Ministry of Energy and Environment. The projects are part of a large-scale solar PV project to be implemented in an area of 362 hectares, with a combined capacity of 360 MW in the region of Larissa.

The Farsala solar energy complex will consist of 11 photovoltaics solar projects and will provide 550 GWh of clean energy, which is enough to cover the needs of 40,000 households. The electricity produced from each project will be transferred via underground medium voltage lines to a new substation, proposed to be constructed by the company at Skotoussa, in Farsala Municipality. This substation will serve the grid connection of all the projects the company is developing inside Farsala Municipality.

Thomas Stavrou, country manager for Greece of Valorem Group said: “Valorem, active in Greece since 2019 with its local subsidiary Ren Valorem Hellas, is strengthening its presence in the country and has a current REN portfolio of circa 700 MW under development, intended to be implemented in close cooperation with local partners and communities.”
