Saudi Arabia, Riyadh: Nesma Infrastructure & Technology (NIT) has signed a major contract with the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC).

The project involves the construction of the Farasan Island 132/33/13.8 kV Substation in the Jizan region which will enhance the area’s transmission and distribution network. The value of the contract is SAR 300 million.

‏The scope of work includes the engineering, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning, and energization of the transmission substation along with the static synchronous compensator and the connection to the Saudi Arabian National Grid on a lump sum turnkey basis. The project will last approximately 20 months.

Nesma signed a major strategic package with SEC last month, with the total value of the contracts at over SAR 1.3 billion. The scope of work includes constructing and delivering 16 high-voltage transmission substations to support the development in the eastern region of Saudi Arabia.
