Spain, Castilla y Leon: Vestas and TagEnergy have reached an agreement to develop a 220 MW wind portfolio in the province of Castilla y Leon, Spain.

Vestas will act as lead developer, and TagEnergy will draw on its experience developing wind farms to determine the most cost-efficient model. TagEnergy will use its expertise in battery energy storage systems (BESS) to lead potential hybridisation of the projects to help stabilise the grid.

The co-development agreement in Spain deepens the relationship between the Portugal-based independent power producer and Vestas, which began with the 756 MW Golden Plains Wind Farm East, stage one of TagEnergy’s 1300 MW Golden Plains Wind Farm project in Victoria, Australia. TagEnergy appointed Vestas as the lead engineering, procurement and construction provider, and long-term service and maintenance supplier for this stage of the project.
