India, Rajasthan: Acciona Energia has started the construction of a 412 MW photovoltaic project in the state of Rajasthan, India.

The 412 MW solar power plant is scheduled for commissioning in 2025. It will consist of around 750,000 photovoltaic modules and will be Acciona Energia’s largest project in India. The company already owns and operates four wind farms in the country. The project will be included in Acciona Energia’s Social Impact Management programme, which is designed to support education, well-being and environmental care programmes in the communities where the company operates.

India’s installed solar power capacity has increased 30-fold in the last nine years and Rajasthan, in particular, boasts the highest number of large-scale solar installations, with over 18GW connected by the end of 2023.

Installed solar power in the region accounts for approximately 25% of India’s cumulative solar capacity.
