Oman, Muscat: The agreement was signed under the patronage of Sayyid Faisal bin Turki Al Said, Oman’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, and it represents a significant $10 million investment aimed at enhancing the Kingdom’s power infrastructure with locally manufactured transformers.

Branded as Saudi Voltamp, the factory will be located in the Western Region near Jeddah. The first phase is targeted for completion by 2025 and will focus on manufacturing 132 kV transformers on a 27,000 m2 site. To meet the Kingdom’s growing energy demands, the second phase, with a target completion date in 2027, will see the factory expand to 45,000 m2 and enable the production of 380 kV transformers. The project aligns with Oman’s Vision 2040, which prioritises economic diversification and international collaboration, and with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030’s, the goals of which are fostering domestic industry and building a thriving economy.
