India, Madhya Pradesh: A 50 MVA transformer has been energized by MPPTCL at the 132 kV Dongrital substation in Singrauli district, replacing an old 20 MVA transformer. This has taken the overall transformation capacity of the Dongrital substation to 70 MVA. This was done due to the increasing electricity demand from coal mines and consumers (agricultural, industrial and domestic) in the area.

The transformer was commissioned at an outlay of INR5.76 crore ($695000). It has strengthened the transmission capacity of the district, benefiting industrial consumers and over 30000 consumers connected to 138 villages, including Langhadol and Khanuankhas.
