Uzbekistan: A 500 MW wind farm will be constructed in the Kungrad district of Karakalpakstan, the National Database of Legislation of Uzbekistan has announced. The project will include the construction of power lines and will be implemented by Saudi Arabia’s ACWA Power company. The construction could attract direct foreign investment of $682 million. An agreement will be signed with National Electric Networks of Uzbekistan for the purchase of electricity produced at wind farm for 25 years.

The Saudi company will also start the construction of a 200 MW wind farm and a 100 MW energy storage system in the Beruniy and Karauziak districts of the autonomous republic, and is implementing a 300 MW wind farm project in the Bukhara region.
