Megha Engineering wins two intrastate schemes

India, Uttar Pradesh: Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Ltd (MEIL) has won two intrastate schemes under the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) route, both of which are located in Uttar Pradesh. The project SPVs for the two schemes were transferred to the company on March 7, 2024.

The projects are Tirwa Transmission Ltd, including the construction of 220/132/33 kV Tirwa (Kannauj) substation with associated lines and LILO of one circuit of 400kV D/C (Twin Moose) Shamli-Aligarh line at THDC 2×660 MW Khurja Power Plant, while the other is Jewar Transmission Ltd, encompassing the construction of 400/220 kV, 2×500 MVA GIS Substation Jewar, 220/33kV; 2×60 MVA GIS substation Cantt (Chaukaghat) Varanasi; 220/33kV, 3×60 MVA GIS substation Vasundhara (Ghaziabad); 220/132/33kV, 2×160+2×40 MVA Substation Khaga (Fatehpur) with associated lines.

T&D India had reported earlier that Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) and Tata Power were in the race with MEIL for the Jewar project, while MEIL and PGCIL were competing for the Tirwa transmission scheme.
