Iraq, Baghdad: According to Iraq’s Electricity Minister Ziad Fadil, a project to link Kuwait’s grid to Iraq’s will be completed before the end of 2024 as part of a greater power connection between Iraq and Gulf oil producers. The link with Kuwait could supply Iraq with nearly 500 MW, with another power connection with Jordan set to be commissioned within the next few days.

Fadil said that the power link with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) is moving ahead, with nearly 45% of the link from the Kuwait side having been completed. Speaking about the link with Jordan, he said it could supply Iraq with at least 150 MW in the first stage.
