Bahrain: Serbia’s Energoprojekt Entel has secured the bid for a new 66 kV substation project from Bahrain’s Electricity & Water Authority (EWA). With a winning bid of BD998,800 ($2.63 million), the company, which specialises in engineering, design, and project management services, was the lowest bidder among competing consultants. Also competing were renowned international consultants including Electricite de France, which proposed BD2.08 million, Ireland’s Esbi Engineering and Facility Management with BD1.55 million, and Canadian group SNC-Lavalin with BD1.54 million.

The project has a comprehensive scope including technical and engineering studies, definition of detailed project scope, preparation of technical specifications and engineering designs, and development of necessary tender documents for project implementation. The selected consultant will be tasked with qualifying appropriate contractors, managing tenders, evaluating offers, and overseeing contractors during the project’s implementation phase. The project is scheduled for completion within the next five years.
