Poland: Seaway7, part of the Subsea7 Group, has been awarded a deal to transport and install part of the substations for the 1.5 GW Baltica 2 offshore wind farm in Poland. The contract was placed by the two project developers, Polish utility PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA and Denmark’s Ørsted A/S. The exact value of the deal hasn’t been disclosed, but Seaway7 said the order falls in a category described as “sizeable,” relating to awards worth between $50 million and $150 million.

The company will be responsible for the transport and installation of four substations. It aims to launch offshore activities in 2026, utilising heavy lift and heavy transportation vessels. The contract is subject to the developers reaching financial close of the project, which is expected to occur this year.

Baltica 2, with its 14 MW Siemens Gamesa wind turbines, will be located around 40 km (24.8 miles) off Poland’s northern coast, between Leba and Ustka. The project, part of the 2.5 GW Baltica Offshore Wind Farm, is expected to start operations in 2027.
