Kallam Transmission project operationalized
The project is Indigrid's first greenfield project and consists of a substation and 18 km multi-circuit line.

India, Maharashtra: India Grid Trust (IndiGrid) has operationalized its first greenfield project, Kallam Transmission Ltd, which was won in December 2021 through the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) mechanism and has been developed on build, own, operate and maintain (BOOM) basis for a period of 35 years. It was granted approval for energization by the authorities on February 6, 2024 and was put to use.
The project consists of a 2×500 MVA substation with 400/220kV voltages and 10 bays with a LILO multi circuit line of around 18 km. It should enable the evacuation of 1 GW of power from renewable energy projects in Dharashiv area of Maharashtra and play a key role in strengthening the state’s transmission system by improving the grid availability for evacuation and integration of renewable energy. In November 2022, IndiGrid was awarded augmentation work in the KTL project to enable the evacuation of an additional 1 GW of power under the regulated tariff mechanism (RTM) mode.
