Substation platform installed at Dogger Bank
The offshore wind farm will be the world's largest once finished.

UK: The second offshore substation platform has been installed at Dogger Bank Wind Farm in the UK, set to become the world’s largest offshore wind farm with a capacity of 3.6 GW once construction is completed. Italian energy services company Saipem installed the platform 130 km (81 miles) from the shore using its Saipem 7000 vessel.
The project is being developed in three 1.2 GW phases, A, B and C, by a joint venture between SSE Renewables (40%), Equinor (40%) and Vargronn (20%). It will have three platforms, with the first already being installed at Dogger Bank A a year ago.
The Dogger Bank B platform is deployed in depths of roughly 28 metres (92 ft, using a four-legged steel jacket foundation structure designed and fabricated by Saipem and integrates a High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) system by Hitachi Energy which can helo transmit power more efficiently than traditional AC systems.
