South Africa, City of Tshwane: The City of Tshwane announced on Thursday it had managed to restore power to most parts of Pretoria East following the explosion and fire at the Mooikloof substation. The fire, which happened last weekend, destroyed a transformer and distribution panels.

Power is back on in several areas, including Mooikloof Estate, Parkview Shopping Complex, Woodlands Mall, Woodhill, The Wilds, Pretoriuspark extensions, a portion of Moreletapark and MK Rural Line. Technical teams are working diligently to address some of the remaining issues while most of the repairs have been completed. Power was also temporarily restored in Mooikloof Ridge Estate until a cable fault dumped the area back into darkness. Boardwalk and Olympus are without electricity, too.
