Australia, New South Wales: The last turbine has been installed and is ready for commissioning at Tilt Renewables’ 396 MW Rye Park wind farm in New South Wales. Testing and commissioning at the site is ongoing, with the complex due to commence commercial operations in the middle of the year.

The wind farm, located near Yass in the Southern Tablelands, consists of 66 of Vestas Wind Systems A/S’ EnVentus platform V162-6.2 MW turbines in a 6.0 MW operating mode. Construction began in December 2022 and first power was injected into the grid last summer.

About 55% of Rye Park’s generation is contracted by gold miner Newcrest Mining Ltd for 15 years, while a 15-year renewable energy certificate (REC) agreement for 45% of the annual output is in place with utility AGL Energy to benefit technology giant Microsoft Corp. The project will be able to produce around 1188 GWh of electricity annually.
