Sweden: Danish solar company Nordic Solar A/S has announced it has started the construction of the 92 MWp Hultsfred solar park in Sweden, its second and largest in the country. The PV power plant is expected to be connected to the grid at the end of 2025 and to generate 100 GWh of power per year.

The project will be connected to the grid via a new large transformer substation located nearby, of which E.ON Sweden broke ground with the help of Nordic Solar at the end of April. The substation will connect several solar park projects totalling nearly 200 MWp, thus making it the largest connection of solar power to the electricity grid in Sweden so far.

Nordic Solar is already building the 22-MWp Lindesberg solar park in Sweden and now has 114 MWp under construction in the country, out of its Swedish development portfolio of more than 600 MWp. The portfolio is made up of both own project development and projects in partnership with Swedish solar developer Helios Nordic Energy AB, including Lindesberg and Hultsfred.
