USA, Massachusetts: The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) has fined the power utility Eversource $10,000 for failing to notify the state properly after transformer oil spill that occurred in Springfield on 4 October 2014.
Canada, Quebec: The city confirmed that PCBs had been detected at the Reliance Power Equipment Ltd. site in Pointe-Claire, where leaking transformers and containers were removed last year.
USA, North Carolina: In the next few weeks, environmental scientists will start tests to determine how much cleanup work will be needed to remove PCBs in the stream beds and lake bottoms near the former Ward Transformer plant in Raleigh.
