Oğuz Sönmez
Sönmez TrafoOğuz Sönmez was the youngest graduate among EMBA Alumni Members in 2015 – 2016 at the Boğaziçi University. He studied at the Istanbul Technical University, Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering Department. He is currently employed at the Sönmez Trafo, where he first worked as the Sales manager from 2010 to 2016 and is the Chief Operational Director since 2016.
Throughout the years, he has gathered his experience as a technical student and via sales internship, as well as while working in substation of steel factory. He has been actively participating in various projects for almost a decade now.
Mladen Banovic
Transformers MagazineMladen Banovic is a scientist and innovator in the field of energy transmission with over 20 years of technical and managerial experience.
He currently holds the positions of Director and Editor-in-Chief at Merit Media Int. – the company behind the Transformers Magazine, Transformers Academy and Transformers Forum brands.
During his career, he managed development of products and systems for worldwide use in electric power grids up to 1200 kV (currently the highest level in the world), the development and deployment of systems for smart grid and automated design, testing, diagnostic and monitoring systems.
Education: PhD, MSc, and BSc degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Zagreb, Croatia.
Affiliations: IEEE Senior Member, member of CIGRE and the European Association of Science Editors
(EASE).
