Qatar places $519M substations order to power ongoing projects

Qatar: State-owned utility Qatar General Water & Electricity Corporation (Kahramaa) has awarded a $519 million (€470 million) contract to Siemens for the supply of 18 turnkey substations to supply power and help to cater for increasing electricity demand.

ABB wins $85 million substation order in Qatar

Switzerland, Zurich: ABB has been awarded a contract worth around $85 million in Qatar to provide turnkey substations to help integrate electricity from a new independent water and power plant (IWPP) into the country’s grid.

Alstom wins $278M substation contract in Chile

France, Levallois-Perret: Alstom has been awarded a €260 million ($278 million) contract by Transmisión Eléctrica del Norte (TEN), a subsidiary of Chile-based electric company E-CL, to supply four turnkey substations for Chile’s first interconnection system, the Mejillones – Cardones Transmission line.
