JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineering Intern for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in our Accident, MD location reporting to the Senior Electrical Design Engineer.  This engineer has a great opportunity to gain real-life experience and support the development efforts of Engineering in designing, developing, and troubleshooting projects.

The expectations are simply to learn, grow, and have fun in many areas of the Engineering and delivering the next generation of products helping to transform the utility industry and the high voltage testing industry, their business practices, and overall efficiency.

Specifically, Interns have the opportunity to be a part of teams that help shape how hardware and software products are defined, designed, implemented, qualified, and delivered.  We are committed to working with our Interns to find the right fit for their skill set as well as personal aspirations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

·       Define and design solutions to meet Engineering projects

·       Develop electrical hardware solutions identified in the defined design solution

·       Create electrical schematics for engineering projects

·       Create bills of material (BOMs) for engineering projects

·       Support Transformer Design Engineer and Mechanical Design Engineers on engineering projects

Applicable Skill Sets:

·       Knowledge of electrical and electronic circuit design

·       CAD & Microsoft Office

QUALIFICATIONS

 EDUCATION:

Must be pursuing a degree in Electrical or Electronic engineering.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

·       Motivated self-starter with an aptitude for learning new skills and environments quickly while multi-tasking

·       Ability to spot problematic areas, analyze solutions, propose resolutions, and direct their implementation is essential

·       Candidates should have a technical background

·       Strong written and oral communication skills

·       Proven ability to work independently as well as within a team environment

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE (Not Required):

·       Previous experience as a Phenix Technologies intern

·       Electronic circuit board and component assembly

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand, sit, use computers, read, write, type, use fax machines, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones, and utilize written and oral communication to interact with clients, co-workers and customers. Must be capable of lifting 30 pounds.
