You will contribute significantly to successful results in R&D projects related to thermal developments from software, simulation and experimental, points of view in Power Transformer contributing globally from Spain. Reporting to the R&D/Technology Manager, you will utilize your knowledge and skills in technology and/or product development to identify and implement innovative solutions.

Your Responsibilities

Managing project parameters, processes and tools and assessing how R&D activities contribute to broader business goals.
Compiling and assimilating data from various sources, conduct relatively routine operations and tests.
Expanding your knowledge base of customer needs and technological developments.
Pursuing and leading new ideas for technological innovation for future product developments in transformers cooling and sharing expertise in team meetings and technical reports.
Presenting and communicating project results to other members of the team, management and customers.
Connecting with relevant groups and professional networks to broaden areas of knowledge and expertise.
Contributing to intellectual-property and risk-management discussions and reports.
Understanding, analyzing and providing solutions to customer and market challenges.
Performing a variety of complex engineering assignments requiring the use of advanced and innovative techniques.

Your background

A MS or PhD Engineer in mechanical, thermal or fluid dynamics and/or alternatively, a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments.
Desirable to have more than 2 years of experience in power transformers design or manufacturing and working in R&D for thermal projects in transformers, including empiric validation.
Proved contributions to transformer industry by technical papers and/or patents.
Understand numerical methods as applied to multi-physics problems, especially electro-thermal and fluids modelling problems including optimization methods.
Proven knowledge and experience of the following tools:
– Thermal and fluid simulations (CFD 2D and 3D, preferably Fluent)
– Knowledge of object-oriented software (preferably in VB.NET) and circuit simulation program (preferably SPICE)
Current work permit to work in Spain.
Fluent spoken and written English. Spanish or other languages are an advantage.
Strong commitment to safe work practices and dedication to following all relevant workplace safety guidelines.
A high level of self-motivation, curiosity and desire to learn about new technologies.
A collaborative, problem-solving, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills.
Used to teamwork in international teams with excellent interpersonal skills.
International mobility: availability to collaborate on international R&D projects within transformers organization and potential change of location.
