Celebrating 40 years of innovation

Working in a market that everyday becomes more global and more competitive, state-of-the-art technology plays a key role in determining the competitiveness of any business, and the transformer industry is no exception. For this reason, at L.A.E. – Lughese Attrezzature per l’Elettromeccanica S.r.l. we have a strong focus on technological innovation. At the same time, this year we are celebrating our 40th anniversary and we already have about 200 core-cutting machines installed all over the world. This shows that we are also a company with good practices rooted in tradition and a large experience drawn from years of operating the business in the global market.

Matching innovation with tradition is a key aspect to our industry, and this is especially the case when innovation is using robots, like we do at L.A.E. Our core cutting machine with robot stacker has already been successfully in use for over two years at an Italian leading core service centre, and by the first half of 2018 there will be four LAE core cutting machines with robot stacker in use at some of the most prominent European transformer and lamination manufacturers.

Seminar on core manufacturing process

Our new, innovative core cutting line TO 45 “Veloce” with Robot Stacker 45 has already been presented to the transformers industry (Transformers Magazine, Volume 4, Issue 4). Very soon we will have this line operational, so we are pleased to use this opportunity to organize a technical seminar, aimed at our customers, on the core manufacturing process and together with our partners from TRAFOGRID Alliance present the improved manufacturing process.

The seminar will be centred around today’s most advanced solutions for core cutting and stacking, including both the robot stacker (already implemented on our smaller machine TO 25), and the new TO 45 “Veloce”. The TO 45 “Veloce” will be the first machine with a larger capacity to be able to cover not only small distribution transformers, but also large distribution transformer as well as cast-resin and small power transformers. We will also present our machine TE 65, for the core width up to 650 mm, which will also be capable of robot stacking in the near future. With this machine, we cover the segment of small power transformers up to 40 MVA. So, we will be able to offer automatic cutting and robot stacking for the whole portfolio from 25 kVA up to 40 MVA.
