Interview with Tunç Tezel – Board member and CEO of BEST Transformer
Tunç Tezel has been working as General Manager and Board Member of BEST Transformer since December 2019.
Tunç Tezel is a graduate of Istanbul Technical University, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. He has been working as General Manager and Board Member of BEST since December 2019.
BEST was founded by the Yırcalı family in Balıkesir in 1966 and is Türkiye’s first high-voltage transformer manufacturer. It is 100 % nationally owned and operated. BEST started its production operations in Balıkesir Heavy Industrial Zone and today provides services in Balıkesir Organized Industrial Zone with its new, state-of-the-art facilities. The company is part of Yırcalı Holding, and its shares are traded on the Capital Market Free Trade Platform.
BEST has broken many new grounds in the electromechanical industry with its R&D and technological investments. Today, it creates economic, environmental, and social value under the roof of sustainability in the ecosystem that it has established with over 1.300 employees and more than 300 engineers.
The company was one of the signatories of the United Nations Global Compact in 2019. This was thanks to our sensitive approach to social issues.
