Spain, Bilbao: Iberdrola has been awarded an energy generation project in Mexico, the Noreste combined cycle power plant planned to be built in the municipality of Escobedo in Nuevo León state, which will have a capacity of 850 MW and require an investment of $400 million.

Spain, Basque: Iberdrola, the Bilbao-based Spanish public electric utility, has opened Pontika substation in the town of Errentia after the substation received a €2.5 million ($2.8 million) capacity and technological upgrade.
