Belgium, Brussels: As the United Kingdom decided to leave the European Union in a national referendum, European Steel Association warns that Brexit might represent another blow to the UK steel industry, its value chains and the wider economy, and have far reaching effects on the European steel sector.
Belgium, Brussels: Today at the Competitiveness Council in Brussels, EU industry ministers from across Europe will discuss actions to actively support the European steel industry to enable the sector to compete on a fair and level playing field within the global market.
The American Iron and Steel Institute, the Steel Manufacturers Association, the Canadian Steel Producers Association, CANACERO (the Mexican steel association), Alacero (the Latin American steel association), EUROFER (the European steel association,) Instituto AcoBrasil (the Brazil Steel Institute), the Specialty Steel Industry of North American and the Committee on Pipe and Tube Imports have released a joint statement regarding concerns about China’s attempt to gain market economy status in December 2016.
