Iberdrola SA has obtained the construction permit for the 101 MW El Escudo wind farm located in the autonomous community of Cantabria.
Iberdrola has announced that the Montechoro I and II PV plants, located in Algarve, Portugal, have been completed and now contribute to the country’s renewable production capacity.
The project will have a capacity of 274 MW and will be built in the districts of Vila Real and Braga.
Located off the coast of Brittany, the project’s production is around 1,820 GWh/year, about 9% of Brittany’s total consumption.
The agreement comes after Avangrid abandoned an $8.3 billion deal to acquire US competitor PNM Resources in January.
Once completed, the project will generate enough electricity to supply around 475000 homes annually.
ENWL delivers electricity to about 5 million customers in Manchester, Lancashire and Cumbria.
The project would consist of New England Wind 1 and New England Wind 2.
The wind farm will be located on the island of Honshu.
Around €21.5 billion will be invested into its network business, while will be invested €15.5 billion in renewables.
The funds are aimed at improving the efficiency and resilience of the power grid and helping connect more renewable energy sources.
The solar power plant will be one of the largest in Italy.
