Xcel invests $13M in new transformer at the 1970s nuclear plant
USA, Minnesota: Xcel Energy, a Minneapolis-based utility company, has embarked on a project to replace a turbine and step-up transformer at Prairie Island nuclear plant as part of the utility’s $68 million upgrades to extend the life of the 1970s-era power plant.
