ABB’s second-biggest shareholder, Swedish investment company Cevian, has hired Boston Consulting Group to study a potential break-up of the Swiss engineering group, turning up the pressure for a revamp of the company, reports Manager Magazin.

ABB’s biggest shareholder investor AB raised its stake to 10.03 percent, continuing to steadily increase its holding in the Swiss engineering group.

Cevian Capital, one of ABB’s three largest shareholders with 5.1% of total ABB Ltd share capital, is looking to significantly increase its share in the Swiss-Swedish industrial giant.
