FGC strengthens the reliability of electricity flow between the Centre and the Northwest

Russia, Tver Oblast: Federal Grid Company (FGC) has completed the extensive work on the modernisation of the substation located near Konakovskaya TPP.

Russia, Tver Oblast: Federal Grid Company (FGC) has completed the extensive work on the modernisation of the substation located near Konakovskaya TPP.

Obsolete power transformers have been replaced to improve the reliability of electric power to Kalinin NPP in the Moscow region, as well as electricity flows between the Centre and the North-West. Installed capacity of the substation is 1251 MVA.

The modernisation included the replacement of six current transformers and circuit breakers which have been tested and successfully put into operation, reports Rus Cable.

New current transformers and circuit breakers have a high reliability and do not require constant maintenance.
