France, Rhône: Power transformer fire at Echalas power station sent thick black smoke into the sky.
Thick, black smoke was visible from the heights of Givors last Friday, reports Le Progres. According to preliminary results, the transformer oil burnt and caused large plume of smoke.
Firefighters were on the site and prevented the incident affecting the power supply. There was no risk to the population and the site was relatively isolated.
