Toshiba to support Jimah power project construction in Malaysia

Japan, Tokyo: A consortium of Toshiba, IHI, Hyundai Engineering and Hyundai Engineering & Construction, has won an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract by a special purpose company established by Mitsui and 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).

Japan, Tokyo: A consortium of Toshiba, IHI, Hyundai Engineering and Hyundai Engineering & Construction, has won an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract by a special purpose company established by Mitsui and 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).

The consortium will supply a 2,000 MW ultra-super-critical steam turbine and generators for Jimah coal-fired power generation project in Mukim Jimah in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia.

Toshiba will deliver and install main transformers, two units of 1,000MW ultra-super-critical steam turbine and generators, reports EBR. The project’s first unit is scheduled to start operation in 2018 and the second one in 2019.
