Egypt, Cairo: Seven power transformers caught fire at Hadaek El-Ahram area in Giza where fire fighters of the Civil Protection Authority were called.

A malfunction had been reported in one of the transformers Thursday morning, according to the state-run MENA agency, confirming that it was repaired and functioning in the evening of the same day. In the evening, crackling noise was heard from the transformer which then caught fire at dawn, spreading it to the six other transformers.

It has been confirmed the fire was caused by technical problems. The six transformers have been repaired and power to the area of Hadaek Al-Ahram restored, reports All Africa.
