New delays are expected on the A34 and the M4, UK this weekend due to the transport of a large power transformer from Didcot Power Station, Oxfordshire to Avonmouth Docks, Bristol.
The southbound A34 carriageway will be blocked from 7 p.m. tonight as the last of three 600-tonne transformers is moved from the site, where the old coal-fired station is being decommissioned.
Police stated that the convoy will move at a maximum speed of 10 mph and will effectively close the southbound A34 from Didcot to the M4 junction north of Newbury.
