ESB restores power to 12,500 homes after transformers get struck by lightning

Ireland: ESB is continuing to restore power to thousands of homes after transformers were struck by lightning in a severe storm in the south and south east of the country.

 


Ireland: ESB is continuing to restore power to thousands of homes after transformers were struck by lightning in a severe storm in the south and south east of the country.

Over 20,000 homes and businesses in Waterford, Wexford, Cork and Kilkenny lost powr as repairs were not able to be carried out due to the weather conditions, reports The Journal.

ESB crews have now managed to restore power to around 12,500 customers but 7,500 homes are still without electricity in Waterford and South Wexford.
