Alstom awarded wind farm contracts in Brazil
France, Levallois-Perret: Votalia Energia do Brasil has awarded Alstom a $17.8 million contract to provide electrical balance of plant systems at two wind farms in north-east Brazil totalling 201 MW.
France, Levallois-Perret: Votalia Energia do Brasil has awarded Alstom a $17.8 million contract to provide electrical balance of plant systems at two wind farms in north-east Brazil totalling 201 MW.
The contract includes medium and high voltage systems and Alstom will construct step-up substation, install power transformers, transmission line and connecting bays. High voltage equipment will be manufactured locally in Alstom’s plants at Itajubá and Canoas.
The São Miguel do Gostoso complex is made up of four wind farms – Carnaúbas, Reduto, São Cristo and São João, each with 27 MW. It is located in the state of Rio Grande do Norte and scheduled to start commercial operations in March 2015. The Vila Amazonas complex has a total capacity of 93 MW in the state of Ceará and should start serving the grid in 2016.
