New power transformer installed at Barracas substation in Buenos Aires

Argentina, Buenos Aires: The Federal Planning Ministry reported that a new power transformer has entered service at the Barracas substation.

The 40 MVA transformer will provide more power to the medium and low voltage grid in the south of the City of Buenos Aires under the distributor Edesur, reports Impulso Baires.

The installation of a new transformer for Edesur’s network is part of the programme being conducted by the Ministry. As part of the programme, another 40 MVA power transformer was installed yesterday at the Pompeya substation.

These transformers are part of the set of five which arrived to the country in from India for installation into substations operated by Edesur and improvement of the power supply.

The new transformers were manufactured by EMCO Limited and the remaining three 80 MVA ones will be installed in Caballito, Calzada and Transradio substations.
